Each school and school district have different capacities and protocols for this technology. Therefore, we ask that all questions regarding the videoconferencing technology be directed to your school district.

How to Register: To register your school for this program, email Lkerr@mshinstitute.org with the following information:

-Subject Line: May 18th Volcano Explorers Registration -Teacher Name -School District -School Name and Address -Grade Level -Number of Students Participating -Teacher Contact Info (Email Address and Phone Number) -Tech Coordination Contact Info (Email Address and Phone Number)

Background:

May 18th, 2010 will mark the 30th Anniversary of the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens, a day vividly remembered by so many. Yet today, students are too young to remember this eruption or its disastrous aftermath. This opportunity to interact with scientists in the field will instill a sense excitement in the students which will lead to scientific inquiry. Volcano Explorers curriculum is designed to meet National Science Education Standards and Washington State Essential Academic Learning Requirements.

The registration deadline is May 10th. Space is limited, so register early to ensure your class a spot
