Colleagues,
A group led by Hutchinson Center Director Lee Hartwell is working to develop a new course for K-8 preservice teachers. The course would use science, sustainability, and the environment as integrating contexts for thinking and learning. Recognize the vital role of practicing classroom teachers in designing an effective course, we are looking for K-8 teachers who are eager to immerse themselves in this project with us.
The selected teachers, probably about 4-6 individuals, will work on the project full time from July 6-30 at the Hutchinson Center in Seattle, bringing their expert knowledge of K-8 teaching and learning to the group and joining us in working together on the course design.
I know it's late in the season for this kind of recruiting, but we are hoping to identify some thoughtful and energetic teachers who are willing to immerse themselves in this work. Please distribute the advertisement below through any mechanisms you have for reaching teachers who would be interested in this opportunity. Eliana Medina from Lee's team will be the point of contact for questions about the application or the positions. Her e-mail address is
emedina@fhcrc.org.
Thank you for your help.
I've attached the advertisement and also pasted the text below in case there are problems with the attachment.
